The Riverside Unified School District board on Monday will consider opposing the initiative to restrict bilingual education.

The board’s proposed resolution states that Prop. 227, which is on the June 2 ballot, “would have a detrimental impact” on students learning English. The measure would place English learners in classes taught “overwhelmingly” in English for about one year.

Parents could seek waivers.

The meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Riverside adult school, 6735 Magnolia Ave.
