Unusual Crusade Sunday, April 5, 1998 Dear Friends, Last weekend two more mid-size Northern California newspapers---the Contra Costa Times and the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat---came out with huge sets of stories on bilingual education in general and our initiative in particular, each amounting to nearly 300 column-inches, including photos. This Sunday, the Los Angeles Times also came out with an excellent front-page Metro story on the true origins of Proposition 227, which I am attaching below. The timing couldn't have been better---the vote is now just 60 days away.
