Make bilingual education an after-school elective By: A. RAY RAMOS
Bilingual education should be offered as an elective, much like an extra-curricular activity. If parents feel so strongly about bilingual education, they should sacrifice a little of their time and enroll their children in it after normal school hours. What this will prove is how many kids and parents are truly serious about this kind of education. I feel that once the parent is made to put forth some effort in this matter, the bilingual issue will be forgotten. How is Mexico coping with it? It isn't.
