To the Editor:

I am a mother and have five kids who go to school. As a mother and a student itself, I know how difficult it is to be in the bilingual class. At the age 47, I was able to see the consequences of my decision in going to the bilingual classes. Now I do not want my children to through of what I experienced.

Before I put my children in the bilingual classes but saw no improvement in their grades and abilities to communicate to other people effectively. When I decided to transfer them in the English classes I can see the big difference in their grades and the way they talk and write.

As I read the article about the "back plan to end bilingual education." I feel its also my responsibility to let everyone know of what are the aftermath if ever, you're children are taking the bilingual class. If you based everything in my experience, I cannot even communicate effectively to my colleagues because I can't speak English effectively. So, I think to discontinue the bilingual classes is the best interest for our childrens' future.

Hoping more people will support in abolishing the bilingual class. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS.

Truly yours,

Cuca A. Rocha
