1 really don't know if they should keep the bilingual classes or drop them because I was never in one. But by the things I have been reading in the newspaper many people agree with the shutting down of these classes. I asked around to get some opinions and started with some neighbors and a couple said that they believed these classes were helping their kids by teaching them things that they would have taken longer to learn in regular classrooms. These same people said that they didn't want thier kids in regular calsses because of the teasing their kids get by the other student's in the same class, and therefore it makes it harder for them to learn.

Other people responded to the question by telling me they prefered their kids in regular classes for the reason that they make friends with the other students that do speak english and start picking up words here and there and that enables them to speak and pronounce a better English. Then I was told by some other parent's that they really didn't care if their kids were in a biligual class or not. They just said, we are just happy with the fact that our kids are getting an education here in the U.S. and learning things we never learned or had the chance to in Mexico for the reason we had to work with are parents to put food in the table.

I believe that if parents who are against these bilingual classes think that their kids are not showing improvmeht in their English vocabulary and are just wasting time in these classes by coming out the same way they came in, then they should do something about it. I suggest a good way to solve this problem is just to vote on the subject and let the community know what's going on, and ask them for their vote and oppinion on the subject.
